<p><img alt="" src="http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/fox4figure/samara.jpg" class="aligncenter" width="432" height="288" />Samara Day, born January 21st, 1985, was raised in the beach cities of Orange County and San Diego, CA.  The ambitious daughter of an Irish-American father and Japanese-American mother, Samara spent much her childhood traveling to Japan, learning the language and culture, both overseas as well as here in the states.  </p>
<p>With a strong desire to make her own way and using her language-learning abilities, she joined the US Air Force at 17 and was trained as an Arabic translator.  During her Air Force career, fitness and strength-training became a hobby, and from that point forward, being in good shape, both inside and out, became a main priority.  </p>
<p>Transitioning from the military to a civilian way of life, Samara took a position at the National Security Agency, where she utilized the language and supervisory skills she gained in the service.  </p>
<p>In 2009, with a desire to be closer to her family as well as reinvent herself in all aspects, she resigned as a contractor, returned to the west coast, and enrolled in college.  Since then she has dedicated all her time to studying, spending time with family and friends, trying out new activities, such as surfing and snowboarding, and most prominently, training with the elite Team Fox at M2 Fitness Pros.  </p>
<p>Her short-term goals are to step onto a stage and enter the competitive world of fitness. In the long-term, she plans to put her education and experience to use in the international business world, eventually have a family, and travel to every country she can, all while maintaining a healthy and physically driven lifestyle. </p>

<p>Many of us can relate to a single event, a connection or something that has affected us profoundly. Months ago these young women made a commitment to come on board the M2 competitive team. Within the last several months they’ve been able to accomplish great victories and experiences that have prepared them for the future that lies ahead.</p>
<p>But before them, there were others… some “diamonds in the rough” and with a little effort, they became shining stars. Others coming through the doors of M2,we saw do amazing things, through the simple act of commitment improve elements of their lives not related to, but complimented by elite fitness.</p>

<p>These young women with integrity were highly motivated by keeping of commitments made to others, privately and publicly, and those served as powerful inspiration.</p>
<p>The more proof you see that it can be done, the less power your doubts, fears, and excuses have. Investing in YOU is something to be taken serious, no price you can place on life experience.</p>

<p><em>“Because of today’s economy, the amount of donations being made to charities and non-profit organizations has significantly decreased. So we’ve decided to create and event that gives back in a BIG way. By encouraging local neighbors to come down for a (one day) hour and a half Boot Camp workout where 100% of the $25 donation fee will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach – this is fitness with a PURPOSE, it’s a win-win-win for everyone involved”</em> says &#8211;Emile Jarreau and Bea Fox, co-owners of Long Beach Fit Body Boot Camp. </p>

The Boot Camp will take place on Saturday, June 5th from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the scenic oceanfront “Bluff Park” in Long Beach.   Participants are welcome to workout at their own pace for as little as fifteen minutes or, for those up to the challenge, for the entire hour and half. The workout will include fun exercises in a group atmosphere designed to burn the fat, firm and tone the entire body, with the added benefit of giving back.  Every participant will walk away from this workout with a better understanding of fitness and weight-loss concepts, a feeling of accomplishment and knowledge of helping a worthwhile cause.</p>
<p>For a donation of $25, all participants will receive a free t-shirt and will benefit from the knowledge and instruction of four qualified Fit Body Boot Camp instructors.  As an additional incentive, for every donation over $25 participants will receive a free TWO WEEK trial of Long Beach’s newest Fit Body Boot Camp.</p>

</strong>Simply put, boxing is a “knockout workout”. It provides a unique all-body cardiovascular (“cardio”) and strength-training workout. Boxing is a superb all-body approach to developing muscle in the shoulders and forearms, and building muscles in areas such as the legs, hips, abdominals, upper back, triceps, biceps and laterals. Boxing can also be an all-mind workout, enabling you to think more strategically about your moves, breathing and muscles used.</p>

</strong>Boxing is about the “PUNCH” – performance and power training, undeniable confidence, no-excuses workout, cardio conditioning, and healthy habits. With a commitment to the principles of the “PUNCH”, boxing promotes a healthy, safe approach to a whole-body, mind and soul training with unlimited benefits in both the short and long-term.</p>
<p><strong>PERFORMANCE and POWER training<br />
</strong>Boxing sessions are focused on developing performance, stamina and power and should stimulate several muscle groups enabling a dual-approach to exercise in both aerobic and anaerobic forms. Boxing training not only improves one’s speed, resistance, and strength, but flexibility and the reflexes of the muscles are also enhanced with a regular program. Additionally, repetitive motion of the arm muscles through sparring and shuffling while punching enables arms and legs to gain strength and power.</p>

</strong>Boxing training also vastly improves cardio conditioning. The variations of the sparring jabs and power punches combine all of the aerobic-forms of exercise into a fitness regimen that is guaranteed to encourage a full cardio workout. Boxing workouts can burn up to 350 to 500 calories in an hour. With variations in movements and proper training, one is able to maintain the recommended heart rate at 75 to 85% of the maximum heart rate in order to fully realize results. Cardio-conditioning the whole body through a boxing workout simultaneously builds endurance, agility and coordination.</p>

<p>With over 20 years of experience in the boxing world, Jorge A. Rodriguez is a Golden Gloves champion and a Diamond<img class="alignright" src="http://i463.photobucket.com/albums/qq355/fox4figure/img001.jpg" alt="" width="412" height="293" /> Belt Tournament Champion. As an amateur boxer and veteran of over a dozen professional fights, he boasts an 11 to 1 record. Jorge believes firmly in his mantra of “think like a champ, train like a champ, look like a champ” and using the PUNCH method to enable the development of a commitment to boxing as a sport or exercise.</p>
<p>His philosophy on boxing is to strive for a balance in building strength as well as remaining healthy in nutritional choices and keeping a positive mental attitude. Originally from Mexico, Jorge grew up immersed and surrounded by boxing as a safe and positive form of exercise and fitness. He sees boxing as a way to keep fit and redirect energy towards something that trains not only one’s body but also mental acuity.</p>
<p>Currently retired from competition, with his passion for and love of boxing, Jorge currently trains and teaches individuals of all ages as well as semi-professional preparation.</p>
